With regards to my experience of purchasing a puppy from Thunderstorm Dobermans:
The easiest way to put it in one sentence would be for me to say that "everything that is advertised and stated on Thunderstorm Doberman's / Lance Landes' web page is true. Everything form putting down a deposit early which I did (because good things do come to those who wait) to the breeder support and ear cropping. I have emailed and spoken with Lance personally on the phone on numerous occasions to make sure I am doing everything right, especially when it comes to the ears. As you can see in the enclosed photo my puppy whose name is Zeus, has excellent ears showing at just 10 weeks of age!! That picture was taken in between tapings with the tampon method he recommends. My veterinarian who specializes in ear cropping was very impressed with the quality of the cropping although I continue to rely on the advice of Lance as to how best continue with the specifics necessary for Doberman care. I have found it very difficult to find veterinarians who are even close to being considered experts on Dobermans and I continue to rely on Lance to get my questions answered. He has always responded in a timely manner. For me personally, I drove almost 5 hours to personally pick my puppy up and was able to see the entire litter and how they care for them. Lance has what he calls a "puppy barn" where the litter is able to remain together after being weaned from their mother. It was nice to see them all in a specialized "puppy barn" all living and socializing together until they are picked up. He also has 2 seperate areas next to the main litter area where the puppies are placed after their ears are cropped to protect them but still keep them close to their littermates until you come and pick your puppy up. As for my puppy Zeus, as you can see he has great markings and is now 24 lean pounds at 12 weeks! He has already demonstrated a very impressive bark and protective "watch stance" when anyone passes my home. People keep telling me how well trained he is and I really have not done anything yet. He just comes by it naturally. If you are looking for a Doberman puppy I highly recommend Thunderstorm Dobermans!!

Dear Lance,
I wanted to let you know that I brought Faith to the Vet to have a check-up for her. Faith is
doing wonderful. The doctor said, “She is a beautiful dog and she looks very good.” I am
going to keep feeding her the Pro Plan food. The Vet also feeds her dog Pro Plan. My
wife and kids are having so much fun with her. She is a happy dog and is a bundle of joy
every morning she gets up. Her ears are going to be ready for taping next week, and I can’
t wait till they stand on their own.
I am very happy that the woman from California recommended Thunderstorm Dobermans
to me. You had no problem when I called asking you questions about the pup; that helped
a lot. If I know of anyone ever looking for a Doberman, you can be sure I will give them
your number.
I will send some pictures to you soon.
Thank you,

Lance;
Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but real busy down here in FL.
Kleo is one week away from being 5 months old, and she is fantastic. I will take some more
pics over the holiday weekend. Here are two I shot today. She is long, great bone structure,
perfect ears, and the greatest personality I've ever seen. Weight is approx. 42 pounds; she is
growing as I write this. I will have her at the vet next week and get a exact weight & Height.
Lance, I've got to tell you, she has far exceeded our wildest dreams. I'm home during the day,
so I have been able to work with her constantly -- she does all the routine commands (heel, sit,
stay, etc.) perfectly... and just within the past week has started to develop a strong bark and is
on alert at the window or door when seeing passing neighbors walking the street, etc.
Our vet, who's been practicing for over 30 years, says she is the finest female dobe he's ever
seen. You won't get any argument from us.
Hope all is well with you.

Lance,
All I have to say, is that your practices that you do your puppies is a very good philosophy. We have raised many,
many dogs from puppies, but Rennen is quite unusual and I have to believe it is the way you raise them as pups that
makes a big difference.
- We could not believe when we brought her home from your place the first night -- we expected when we put her up for
the night (in her crate) for her to cry, whine and throw a fit like most puppies do and they usually carry on for half an
hour or so, before they give up. But Rennen only whined for maybe 5 minutes gave up and went to sleep. The next
night was one minute and quit. By the third night she knew what bed time was, and went with no crying. (By the way in
the past weeks, she has been waking us up to tell us she needs go to potty outside)
- What is funny is she will tear up paper, foil, and plastic caps, but with our clothes all she does is drag them out and
leave them on display in the living room carpeting and so-far (knock on wood) does not tear up cloth. (our cat,
Sherman has found this trait in Rennen very useful to him. He will get up to where his snacks are, knock the container
onto the floor and will have Rennen work at tearing open the cardboard box for him and her to share the contents! You
have no idea how many boxes have teeth marks in them)
- In a Doberman usually the protective guarding instinct doesn't usually kick in until they are 10 months old. Well, I told
you of one incident when she was like 12 or 14 wks old and was not sure if she knew what she was doing, but the
situation seem to fit appropriately and she displaying a protective bark.
- This morning was a big one -- was like early in the morning, I had another incident for some reason, one of the doors
to the outside opened slightly and since we have an ADT system installed, when this happens day or night the break in
the door contact makes a chirp whenever one of these doors open. Well, guess who alerted me with a very different
type of barking, that something was not right? I think Rennen has already figure out when Mike is gone, she tends to
be extra alert. She quieted down when I told her, and went with me checking around the house. She is only 4-1/2
months!!!
There are times she has tested us to see what she can get away with, but it usually takes a firm correction and time out
and the problem is fixed. We are very pleased with her and have to credit you in the way raise them as puppies that
makes this difference. Jill Spencer , Lafette Indiana

Hi Lance,
I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with "Nero" (the puppy you sent)! After 7 months, he's building up a very
strong big beautiful body.. People stop us on the street and stare.. and yes, he's still a puppy.
He's a magnificant dog with lot's of energy and a great personality... He and my older Shepard get along so well you
thought they were buddies from birth. He's going to make the perfect watch dog...
He constantly scans his environment and is aware of the slightest change. That guy is so aware of his surroundings
that one day on a walk a helipcopter flew 1000 ft overhead and he started *barking* at it... LOL! Awesome!!!
Again... Very very pleased... I recommend you all the time.
Thanx Lance ;)
